UPGRADE and UPSKILL OPTIONS

These options are only suitable for Trainers and/or Assessors who currently hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

UPGRADE PATHWAY - TAE40110 to TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment

The upgrade option is for those wanting to upgrade their qualification from 2010 version to the new 2016 version.

The upgrade option is applicable where the Trainer/Assessor already holds the TAE40110 Cert IV in Training and Assessment and needs to undertake:

  1. Gap training in one or more of:
  • TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation.
  1. Recognition of Prior Learning in one or more of:
  • TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  1. Full UoC training in one or more of:
  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Those undertaking the Upgrade option must be able to evidence:

  • that they hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and
  • currency in vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area and
  • currency in training/assessment.

UPSKILL PATHWAY

TAE40110 Cert IV in Training and Assessment to meet 2019 compliance requirements

The upskill option is for those who already hold the 2010 version and are not wanting to upgrade to the 2016 version and require the additional UoCs to be compliant.

The upskill option is applicable where the Trainer/Assessor already holds the TAE40110 Cert IV in Training and Assessment and needs to undertake one or both of:

  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Participants may be able to access RPL for informal and on-job training or life experience

Please identify your wish for RPL on the Enrolment Form.

Refer to the SGAE Recognition and Credit Transfer Policy for detailed information.

CREDIT TRANSFER

SGAE accepts Statements of Attainment and Qualifications from other Registered Training Organisations including TAFE where the qualification, skill sets or units of competency applied for are equivalent to the program the learner is enrolled in and are less than 7 years old.

Refer to the SGAE Recognition and Credit Transfer Policy for detailed information.

DURATION

The qualification duration is approximately 330 hours, which includes face-to-face delivery plus approximately 4-5 hours per week required for study and completion of assessment tasks.

Completion of the full qualification will take approx. 6-12 months.

BLENDED LEARNING

     The course is offered in a blended learning method which means a combination of on-line, face to face and virtual classroom, video, project work, role play, group collaboration, on-job and/or simulated practical. 

     Where a learner is employed in the VET sector employer confirmation of competency will be sought.

          Concessions may differ from State to State.  Please contact SGAE to discuss the best concession applicable to your situation.

          Concession will be applied to the Tuition Fee only.

          Current evidence of concession eligibility is required.
