This program is designed to help students gain basic computer literacy skills to enhance pathways into further education, training and employment. We call the course Computers Stage 1.
We start with where the participants are at as determined by their Learner Plan and we move forward from there with plenty of opportunity for repetition to embed their learning.
For example, some want to learn more about emailing, or Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint or Excel, some want to return to study and focus on related apps, and some want to get more in control of their photos and the connection between the computer and other devices, etc. We start by using the provided laptops, and then move onto using their own laptop if they prefer.
All participants develop more confidence and a willingness to skillfully play on their own.
The IT skills gained in the program provide a pathway into community activities, further pre-accredited computer courses, Certificate II in Business, Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology.
Conducted for all prospective learners to determine the candidates desired outcomes from the course, their future aspirations and their current skills and experience.
This information allows SGAE to individualise training for the learner ensuring appropriate delivery for success.
